1. INTRODUCTION

 

Welcome to ShaadiMitra ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

BY USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

 

2. AI IMAGE ANALYSIS & CONTENT MODERATION (IMPORTANT NOTICE)

 

This section applies to all users. We use automated tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to help keep ShaadiMitra safe and to maintain the quality of profile photos.

 

 

2.1. What We Analyze (No Biometric Identification)

When you upload photos to ShaadiMitra (such as profile pictures or selfies), we may use AI systems to analyze those images for content moderation and safety, including to:

 

  • Check whether the image appears to contain a real human.

  • Check whether the image appears to show a single, front-facing person suitable for a profile.

  • Detect obvious spam, inappropriate, or unsafe content (e.g., violence, explicit content, hate symbols).

  • Identify images that may be heavily manipulated, AI-generated, or obviously fake.

 

These checks help us reduce fake accounts, scams, and unsafe content on the platform.

 

We do NOT use AI to identify who you are, recognize you across different images, or determine whether two images are the same person. We do not create or store biometric templates (such as “face geometry” or facial embeddings).

 

 

2.2. Purpose of AI Image Analysis

We use AI-based image analysis strictly for:

 

  • Profile photo quality and safety (e.g., that the photo is appropriate for a matrimony profile).

  • Fraud and abuse prevention (e.g., rejecting obviously fake or harmful images).

  • Maintaining trust on the platform, especially for users who expect that profiles contain real, appropriate photos.

 

Any AI analysis is used to make moderation decisions (for example, whether to approve or reject a profile photo) and may be stored as simple flags such as “photo_approved = true/false” and related reasons.

 

 

2.3. Third-Party Processing (Google Services)

We may use services provided by Google LLC (such as Firebase and Google AI / Gemini) to perform this image analysis and for general abuse and security monitoring.

 

By uploading photos, you acknowledge that:

 

  • Your images may be transmitted to Google for processing on our behalf.

  • Google processes this data as a service provider / processor for purposes such as content moderation, abuse detection, and platform security.

  • Google may retain certain logs and security data for a limited period consistent with its own privacy and security policies.

 

We do not instruct Google to perform biometric identification or face recognition. We do not receive, store, or use any biometric identifiers (such as facial templates or face geometry) from Google.

 

 

2.4. App-Side Storage

On our side, we may store:

 

  • Your uploaded photos as part of your profile.

  • The results of moderation (e.g., “approved,” “rejected,” “requires review”).

 

We do not store specialized biometric templates (for example, mathematical representations of your face).

 

 

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

 

We may collect the following types of information:

 

 

3.1. Personal Information

 

  • Identity Data: Name, age, gender, date of birth.

  • Contact Data: Phone number and email address.

  • Profile Data: Religion, community (e.g., Gujarati), profession, education, dietary preferences, marital status, and similar profile fields.

  • Media: Photos and other media uploaded to your profile.

 

 

3.2. Usage & Device Data

 

  • Usage Logs: Your interactions within the App (profile views, likes, matches, messages, timestamps).

  • Device Information: IP address, device model, operating system version, and network information.

  • Location: Precise GPS location (if enabled by you) to suggest matches nearby and improve relevance.

 

 

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

 

We use your information for the following legitimate business purposes:

 

  • Matchmaking: To employ algorithms that suggest potential partners based on your preferences and profile data.

  • Security & Verification:

     

    • To verify that uploaded photos are appropriate and appear to show a real person (using automated tools, including AI).

    • To detect fraud, spam, suspicious patterns, and policy violations.

  • Communication: To send important notifications, security codes (OTP), and account updates.

  • Improvement: To improve the App’s features, performance, security, and overall user experience.

 

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

 

 

5. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

 

We may share your information with the following parties:

 

  • Service Providers:

     

    • Google (Firebase and related Google Cloud / AI services): For secure data hosting, authentication, database management, analytics, and AI-driven content moderation and abuse monitoring as described in Section 2.

    • Other vendors that help us with analytics, push notifications, or technical infrastructure, under appropriate data protection agreements.

  • Legal Authorities: If required by law, court order, or government regulation, we may disclose information in response to valid legal requests.

  • Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same or equivalent privacy protections.

 

 

6. DATA RETENTION & DELETION

 

  • Active Accounts: We retain your personal information and profile photos while your account is active to provide the Service and maintain a consistent experience.

  • Unverified / Inactive Accounts: Accounts that are created but fail verification or remain abandoned may be deleted after a reasonable period (for example, 1 week for incomplete sign-ups), in line with our operational and security needs.

  • Account Deletion Request: You may request account deletion at any time. Upon receiving a valid request, we will delete your data from our active databases within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days), subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records for fraud prevention or dispute resolution.

 

We may retain anonymized or aggregated data that does not identify you personally for analytics and business purposes.

 

 

7. USER RIGHTS (GLOBAL & INDIA COMPLIANCE)

 

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your data:

 

  • Right to Access & Correction: You can request a copy of your data or ask us to correct inaccurate information, subject to verification.

  • Right to Withdraw Consent:

     

    • You may withdraw consent for certain processing activities (for example, location access or use of photos for profile purposes).

    • If you withdraw consent for image analysis or photo moderation, some features (such as having a visible profile or using certain verification badges) may become unavailable.

  • Right to Grievance Redressal (India): If you are in India, you may contact our Grievance Officer as listed below for concerns under applicable laws, including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023.

 

We will handle such requests in accordance with applicable laws and may require identity verification to process them.

 

 

8. NO RESPONSIBILITY & FINANCIAL SCAM DISCLAIMER (IMPORTANT)

 

Please read this section carefully. It limits our liability to you.

 

 

8.1. Platform Status

ShaadiMitra is strictly a platform for introductions. We do not verify the criminal background, financial status, or personal character of users beyond our automated and manual checks for basic identity and content policy compliance.

 

 

8.2. FINANCIAL FRAUD & CRYPTO SCAM WARNING

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FINANCIAL SAFETY.

 

  • Zero Liability for Financial Loss: ShaadiMitra shall not be liable for any financial losses, damages, or debts you incur as a result of interacting with other users.

  • No Financial Advice: We will never ask you to invest in cryptocurrency, stocks, forex, business schemes, or any financial product. If a user asks you to invest money, buy crypto, or transfer funds, they are very likely a scammer.

  • Prohibited Conduct: Requesting money, soliciting investments, or promoting “get rich quick” schemes is strictly prohibited. If you engage with such users or send them money, you do so entirely at your own risk.

 

 

8.3. User Disputes & Conduct

 

  • Release of Claims: You hereby release ShaadiMitra, its owners, and affiliates from any claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with disputes between you and other users.

  • Assumption of Risk: You agree that you are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. You understand that ShaadiMitra does not comprehensively inquire into the backgrounds of its users or independently verify all statements made by users.

 

 

9. PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY

 

  • Non-Refundable: Paid features and subscriptions are generally non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise in an applicable offer or jurisdiction.

  • Third-Party Issues: ShaadiMitra is not responsible for payment disputes, failed transactions, chargebacks, or unauthorized charges processed by third-party payment gateways.

  • Future Services: Subscription-based or future features may be subject to separate terms, pricing, and billing cycles which will be presented at the time of purchase.

 

 

10. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION & TERMINATION

 

We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account at our sole discretion, including (but not limited to) cases where a user is:

 

  • Posting false or misleading information.

  • Engaging in spam, harassment, or abusive behavior.

  • Violating community guidelines (e.g., misrepresenting their community, identity, or intent).

  • Repeatedly violating our content moderation policies or attempting to bypass safety systems.

 

In serious cases, we may also block associated device identifiers or contact methods to prevent re-registration.
